Port Garrec - Doëlan
Döelan
Finistère Morbihan
Welcome to a postcard landscape! The beauty of the port of Doëlan alone embodies the magic of the rias.
Nestled in a narrow and deep estuary, the port of Doëlan is guarded by two lighthouses, one green and one red, which you will have no trouble spotting! Home to fishing boats and pleasure boats, mooring peacefully sheltered from the swell, Doëlan can be discovered by browsing each of its banks between dapper houses and bucolic havens of peace. The Doëlan walking circuit (yellow markings n ° 1) will be a must during your holidays (the guide “21 ideas for walks” is available at the Tourist Office for € 3).
At the end of the afternoon, you can admire the ballet of the return of the small fishing boats and enjoy the direct sale of fish and other crustaceans caught the same day at the fish market (right bank).
This little haven of peace nestled in the middle of nature is also a starting point for hiking, one of which will take you to Pouldu and its beaches.
A little wink : – The Port of Doelan in southern Finistere in Brittany serves as the backdrop for TF1’s comedy TV movie “Doc Martin”. The production baptized the small fishing port “Port-Garrec”. This series tells the story of Martin Le Foll, (Thierry Lhermitte) renowned doctor who, one day, suffers from a phobia of blood and is forced to become a doctor in a small village surrounded by very picturesque citizens who will contrast with his methods of work and his way of seeing life in general.
“Doc Martin” is put in pictures by Ego Productions.
